What was the study asking?
This is a narrative review of the impact of lifestyle modifications in women with PCOS.
What did they find?
Interestingly, the same that I see clinically in my patients with PCOS. That the progression and health consequences of the condition are largely modifiable when an individualised, multi-faceted approach is used. Such as one involving dietary modification, physical activity and appropriate use of supplements, both nutritional and herbal.
What is the take-home message?
PCOS can have significant consequences on a women’s psychological, menstrual and metabolic health as well as fertility.
However, much can be done to improve the impact of PCOS on fertility, menstrual health and overall physical and psychological health.
